Field notes A low, dense shrub. Smaller in stature, habit and height from var. cunninghamii in near coastal forests. Conflorescences mostly shorter and broader and leaves shorter and broader than this variety. Pistils initially pink on yellow, appearing to mature to dark purple.

Occurrence remarks Few in number. * NB. This entity was first seen in 2002 but not in flower, but with seed, which we collected and sowed. We now have three generations growing on our property. Bill Molyneux.
