Field notes | Pileus convex, to 2 cm diam., medium brown (near "fawn"), densely covered throughout with matted hairs. Lamellae adnexed, ventricose, fimbriate, brown. Stipe 1.5 cm long, 3 mm diam. nr. the apex, tapering downwards, brown, fibrillose. Spores smooth, irregularly oblong, 8-8.5 x 5.5-6 µm, pale brown. Cheilocystidia present, of large inflated cells, hyaline. No metuloids present. Pileipellis of encrusted, pigmented hairs, clamped, overlying smooth hyphae. |
Previous identifications | Inocybe cystidiocatenata Grgur., This appears to be an Inocybe of the group to which I. cystidiocatenata belongs (i.e. no metuloids, smooth spores, inflated cheilo-cystidia, densely hairy pileus). |
