Occurrence remarks Vegetative (taller trees with cones); slender tree 6 m with narrow, open canopy; branchlets greyish (glaucous), more or less erect, often rather contorted; bark strongly fissured, slightly corky so that pieces come off in the hand easily, dark grey-brown. With Cas. cristata (9783), which has pale grey bark, that is finely tessellated and not easily removed by hand.
