Occurrence remarks Nine clumps of this algae in one pool (not noted in other pools nearby), growing to 20 cm high, from the substrate almost to the water surface. Algae green with main axis surrounded by whorls of about 10 filaments, red-brown 'fruits' on upper whorls. Algae have a strong 'fishy' smell.
