Occurrence remarks Locally frequent (20 clumps in area 5 m x 5 m - relatively dense over a circular area with a radius of 100 m and scattered up to 400 m away, also seen in Grawin) cactus to 1.5 m high. Older cladodes becoming woody, to > 1 m long and to 2 cm wide. Outer cladodes yellow- green, to 25 cm long and c. 0.5 cm wide. Cladodes, particularly outer cladodes, easily separated from plants. Spines 1 per areole, to 1.1 cm long. Nearest areoles c. 3 mm apart on mature cladodes. Petaloid perianth segments greenish yellow; stigma, style, stamen filaments, anthers and pollen greenish white. Fruit red with up to 5 cladodes growing from fruit. Same species and same location as J.R. Hosking 1890.
