Occurrence remarks Locally common (>10 plants) herb to 130 cm high. Sometimes older +/- flattened corms still below current ones c. 4 cm wide, fibrous brown tunic around corms. Leaves mid green yellowing with age or +/- exposure to sun in dry conditions,. up to 49 cm long and to 3.3 cm wide. Inflorescence 10 or 11 flowered, lower flowers opening first. Flowers red and yellow. Each flower with 2 green bracts at the base. Styles trifid, not exceeding anthers. Stamens 3, filaments white basally, pink distally.
