Field notes Tufted subshrub, ca. 70 cm high. Branches to 2.5 metres long, most arching and trailing, woody, creamish grey, dull. Young branchlets green. Branches with greenish-white spines, the largest spines to 15 mm on older stems, straight or slightly curved. Leaves 2-3 per node. Leaf upper surface mid green, glossy. Leaf lower surface paler, glossy. Flowers white.
