Occurrence remarks [Letter attached to sheet:] My Dear Doctor, I have seen four letters in reference to Cappervis Mitchellii + addintional localities for plants. I have only on of the Capens in my posession + that a small one but I have spoken to a grower who is going to the [?] + be has promised to [?] for me, which I hope some day to forward to you. When I have leisure, I will pay after [?] to the other matter. Will you kindly clear up a little difficulty for me? I was under the impression that we have only the blue Commelyna [=Commelina] (C. cyanea) at Port Jackson. Rather c[?] the only [?] in many damp places in the country of Cumbaland [=Cumberland]. But it appears, that, a the Darling Point Road near by only, the yellow of Sulphur [?] one [?], of which [?dose] specimen. Now is this plant a distinct species, or a mere variety? The plants + their habit are for the most part aline [?] they differ in the colour of the flower, + the length of the pedicels. I think also that one of the petals in the yellow one is smaller that the other too. Is the yellow one Brown's C. lanceolata? Will you kindly give me yout opinion on the subject? I have sent a paragraph to the Herald in reference to [?]'s omission of your name + [?]. I hope the [?] [?] [?] of, perhaps the omission was unintentional, [?] if [?] Sutherlands attention were [?] to the subject, he might do you justice in the next edition of his books.
