Occurrence remarks Rare. 1 plant only seen. Clumped shrub to 1 m. Spreading from base from fallen segments. No single trunk. Segments light green, dull, spines to 20 mm, retrorse, cream in lower half, yellow towards the tips. Glochids cream. Fruit purple and green, cylindrical to 5.5 cm x 1.5 cm. Leaves red-brown, to 3 mm long, recurved, terete.
