Field notes | Tree, 10 m high and c. 20 m wide (trunk lying along riverbank with upright branches growing from it). Femlae catkins to 4 cm long on peduncles to 1.2 cm long. Leaves with lower surface bluish green and not shiny, upper surface green and shiny. Leaf margins toothed except for young leaves, amongst catkins, which may be entire. Bark on upper large branches mostly smooth, on lower branches fissured and roughly tessellated. Upper branches erect. |
