Field notes Tangled, somewhat scrambling or ascending shrubs to 1 metre high. Stems red. Leaf upper surface mid green, glossy, predominantly with simple hairs, with an underlayer of sparser and shorter stellate hairs. Bracts usually less than 1/3 or 1/3 length of the sepals. Sepals pale green. Petals bright yellow. Stamens 10-15, on one side of the ovary. Anthers bright yellow. Anthers 1.3-1.5 mm long. Ovules 4 per carpel, only 1-2 developing.
