Occurrence remarks | Cap smallest 20mm and largest 70mm; irregular, ear-shaped; pubescent surface; dark orange-brown; no veil; smooth, inrolled in places. Gills/pores/ teeth absent; glabrous, wrinkled; reddish-brown, white coating in places. Milk absent. Flesh thin, 3-4mm; gelatinous texture; dark orange-brown, transluscent. Odour, ring and perennial growth absent. False stem (part of cap present; lateral in position; pubescent surface; gelatinous texture; dark orange-brown; convoluted; length varied with specimen, some relatively short compared to fruit body size, others were quite long; ranged from less than 10mm to about 30mm; diameter irregular along length. Attachment to substrate narrow, stipitate. Spores white. |

Event remarks | It had rained two days before. There were a few small groups of fruiting bodies on the branch, less than 30cm apart. One large fruiting body had fallen off. Some of the fruiting bodies were shrivelled and/or mouldy, others were relatively fresh. The groups comprised of fruiting bodies of various sizes and stages of maturity.
