Occurrence remarks Small tree to 5.4 m high. 5 stems in collection area, sporadically observed in upper Blue Mountains. Stems clothed in old dead leaves, unlike cultivated plants. Leaves to 108.5 x 3.25 cm; dark green; tip acuminate, often brown;. base white/pink & flared to c.7 cm to clasp stem. Inflorescence c. 70 x 70 cm, broad spreading panicle (ultimate branches to 28 cm long with young braches of their own) c.10 000 small, white, sweetly smelling flowers in inflorescence. (to 94 per ultimate branch). Panicle branches subtended by leaf-like bracts (to 2.4 cm long on ultimate branches). Flower buds oblong 5.5 x 2.5 mm, youngest flowers borne distally. Petals 6, creamy white with scattered minute purple/blue striations,. 6 x 2.1 mm. Stamens 6, attached at base of corolla, limbs in centre of petal, filament white, 3.2 mm long. Anthers 1 mm long, yellow, basifixed. Style tri-lobed, 4 mm long, white. Sepals 3, ovate, light brown, membranous, distinct yellow-brown midvein,. 2 – 3 x 1 mm. Young fruit light green 4 x 4 mm, style persistent.
