Occurrence remarks | An introduced weed from America, native to Chile. It is a considerable nuisance in wheat growing areas, especially the Wimmera where its rank, coarse growth chokes the wheat and ruins hay. This weed has spread rapidly in the last few years and grows on a much larger scale than in America. It is not on the noxious weed list though it is a pest. Cultivation will control it to some extent. Yellow Iron Weed is proclaimed a weed in certain districts of Victoria. |
