Field notes Grass to 50 cm high. Pale brown roots from the base and from lower parts of stems near the ground. Leaves and stems mid green. Ligule a small white membrane. Lower glume green and glabrous. Upper glume and lemma green with white hairs. Grain maturing grey-brown.
