Occurrence remarks | Small tree in decline. Ht ca 10m, dbh 30cm. Many dead branches midway up tree. Trunk moss and lichen covered. Young wood mid-brown, flaking off in small flakes. Br. mostly opp. Needles curved, dark green semi-glossy upper, pale grey-green under with darker mid-vein, ends rounded, soft to touch. Lvs spirally arranged but most on upper side. Steeply sloping SE facing hillside. Semi-shady. Pacific silver fir. Ex Eastwoodhill Arboretum, "EWH" 1296, received Sept 2018 Specimen over two sheets A&B DUPLICATE TO: NZFRI ex EWH1296 |
