Occurrence remarks | Herbaceous, dense, semi-erect, multi-stemmed, subshrub forming matts to 20 cm tall. Stems purple or greenish sparsely covered with white antrorse hairs and not developing bark. Leaves ovate with dentate margins, green with purplish petioles and veins, discolourous, adaxial surface with sparse antrorse white hairs, pale purplish abaxial surface with pale orange sessile glands. Shoots terminate in a racemose inflorescence with verticellasters usually with 6 flowers and soon dehiscing caducous ovate bracts; pedicelate purple calyx densely covered with long antrorse white hairs and sessile orange glands; corolla dark purple with faint white stripes along midvein of lateral lobes; filaments and pistil pale paler with anthers bearing yellow pollen. At least 20 individuals in population. |
