Field notes Shrub. 2.5 m x 2 m. Growth stage flowering and seeding. Flower colour: white to pink (variable).¶Branchlets light green. Leaf upper surface ± dark green and dull. Leaves not scented when crushed. Inflorescence rachis beetroot red at maturity. Perianth segments 5, white with a pale green apex and midnerve. Pedicels white at anthesis, dull, beetroot red in fruiting stage. Stamens 10, filaments white, anthers. Stamens in one whorl.Carpels 10, green (when immature) and dull. Styles free in upper 1/2, green with creamish apex. Mature fruit black-purple, glossy and very juicy when ripe. Flowers not scented. Scrips: V. Stajsic.

Occurrence remarks Appears to be spreading, but difficult to tell the rate of spread. Possible source of infestation: Unknown, but may have escaped from the garden. Specimen is from self established plants growing throughout the garden and which have also established into the edges of the surrounding native forest on the property.
