Disposition in collection
Occurrence remarks Cactus to 5 m high. One plant at this height, all others less than 1.5 m high. Plants appearing to grown from fallen stem segments and seed. Stems glaucous with 4 to 6 longitudinal ridges. It appears that additional ridges arise during stem elongation. No flowers or fruit present at this time. Areoles with white to grey felted area and 3-6 white to brown spines. Digital images with John Hosking.

Vegetation: Eucalyptus (a box) woodland with scattered shrubs of {Geijera parviflora} and {Dodonaea viscosa} subsp {angustifolia} and with many herbs including {Austrostipa} sp., {Aristida ramosa, Atriplex semibaccata, Lactuca serriola, Sonchus oleraceus, Medicago minima, Vittadinia} sp., {Lepidium africanum, Hypochaeris glabra, Lolium rigidum, Bromus hordeaceus} and {Goodenia} sp."
