Field notes | Locally common (100s in weedy native vegetation) herb to 1.2 m high. Leaves in a rosette arising from an underground tuber. Leaves to 82 cm long and 5.5 cm wide, green above (often with brown flecks), slightly paler below. Flowers in an umbel of up to 7 flowers at the end of a hollow scape. Flowers with 6 tepals, larger ones alternating with smaller ones, all orange-red with white base and central band; stamens 6 arising evenly from top of ovary around the style, filaments white and anthers brown-yellow; stigma 3-lobed, white above |
