Occurrence remarks Numerous small plants of this species have been removed from around garden beds down the slope from this plant. The source of this plant was a small plant collected from Toolakea near Towsville, Queensland. Reportedly a common species naturalised in scrub in that area. Sid Russell was concerned about this species as it was spreading in his garden. Single shrub 1 m high. This plant has milky sap and hollow stems. Leaves dark green above and paler below. Leaves immediately below the inflorescence are reddish-pink at the base.
