Occurrence remarks | Probable Type Cone of Agathis robusta. Mueller based his description of female parts on 'the dissection of but a solitary fruit-cone.' This is the only part-intact cone located at MEL labelled Dammara robusta and aparently fitting Mueller's description. It was without any further information in an old-style, Mueller vintage, brown paper packet amongst ...sundry Gymnospermae cones. Any other packets are only of loose scales...: Annot. H.I. Aston May 1990.[Collector and location assumed to be same as MEL sheets 1582072 -1582086]. 'Probably cultivated at Darling Nursery, Chippendale, Sydney [T.W. Shepherd, s.n.]. See: Telopea 9:753 (2002).' N. Karunajeewa, 29/7/2005. [C. Moore lived 1820-1905.]. |
