Field notes Shortly laterally-stipitate polypore. Pileus 33-64 mm perp to substrate, 32-94 mm wide, upper surface smooth with faint very thin radial striae (like scratches on wax), cream (3A3-4A2), margin entire to erose. Stipe 2-6 mm long x 4-13 mm wide, with a slightly flared but non-tomentose base. Pores orange-cream (mid 4-5A4), mouths concolorous and entire, pores 3-3.5 per mm, irregular in outline but not very angular nor stongly radially elongated. Spore print white.
