Event remarks | Narrow road verge. Plants growing in an ironbark, Acacia salicina, Eucalyptus tessellaris, E. tereticornis semi-riparian area with Cenchrus ciliaris dominating the ground flora. Soil sandy-clay. Disturbed in the past. Adventive following dumping of garden waste in past. Rosette succulent, vigorously suckering. Maculated leaves. Bunched orange-salmon flowers on branched spikes to 1m+ tall. Roots and sap yellowish. No fruit pods seen. Forming a thin strip c. 2m wide x 5m long; apparently spread further by mechanical attempts to remove the plants. Specimen includes samples of leaves from top and bottom of plants; flowers. Photos of habit and habitat on CD. |
