Field notes Annual herb, leaves grey-green, fleshy. Stems transparent of reddish (especially near base), nodes red. Flowers reddish. One small patch at edge of 'mulga' strand.

Habitat
Supplied as "Very gentle slopes. Soil: Orange-brown somewhat gravelly loam with a scatter of gravel and pebbles on the surface (more between the groves). Acacia aff. catenulata low woodland over Grevillea berryana and Acacia aff. aneura (scythe-shaped; MET 15,743) open woodland over scattered Sida calyxhymenia and Canthium latifolium over Cheilanthes sieberi ssp. sieberi open fernland. Acacia aff. catenulata 5-6 + m 20%; Grevillea berryana (3) 5-6 + m 2%; Acacia aff. aneura (scythe-shaped; MET 15,743) (1) 1-5.5 m < 1%; Sida calyxhymenia 0.5-1.1 m = 2%; Canthium latifolium 0.6-2 m = 1%; Cheilanthes sieberi ssp. sieberi 25-40 cm 10-15%. The Cheilanthes sieberi ssp. sieberi was under the groves. The Paspalidium clementii was very common under groves. The Aristida contorta was abundant on the centre groves."
