Occurrence remarks Brought to Moreland Plant Farm by a customer, and submitted to Burnley School of Horticulture. The safflower is apparently no more than a casual intruder among other plants in gardens and crops.: Annot. J.H. Willis 01/05/1956. Leaves of this species are usually spine-toothed - see R.H.S. Dict. Gardening and material in Foreign colln.: Annot. M.A.T. 17/11/1970.
