Field notes Shrub 50 cm tall and 70 cm across with numerous woody stems. Corolla lobes purple, lower one slightly larger than the others, side two almost as large and the top two distinctly smaller. All lobes grooved along centre, but lower lobe with a distinct ridge along each side of the groove and the others slightly raised. Ridges on lower lobes cream coloured in throat and tube, othes in tube only. Lobes with fringe of small hairs on edges. Tube with strong folds along it. Stamens 4, 2 long and 2 short.

Supplied as "Gentle south westerly facing slope onplain with some sand dunes (70 m from the base of the sand dune). Light brown silty loam (very few sand grains). Hard setting (calcareous?). Acacia tetragonophylla, Scaevola spinescens, Cratystylis, Atriplex shrubland over Frankenia, Dipteracanthus, Indigofera boviperda. Low open shrubland."
