Field notes Pileus: 52 x 12 mm, umbonate with definite pointy umbo, pallid brown with dark brown scaly centre, with scattered scales around margin, fibrillose, margin straight and entire. Lamellae: free, subventicose, to 7 mm deep, thin, crowded, white, single, tier of lamellulae, Stipe: [the dimensions of the stipe are given.] CA, Cyl, very slender, brittle, smooth, pale brown, fistulose, annulus pale brown. Odour: none. Pileipellis: a trichoderm at centre then forming agglutinated fascicules of hyphae, with cystidiate terminal endings, externally encrusted, containing reddish brown plasmatic pigment, 4-18 [micrometres] diam[eter]. No clamps obs[erved], also internal granular pigment. Subpellis: no plasmatic pigment, more inflated irregular hyphae (higgly-piggly). Oleiferous hyphae, ca 5 [micrometres] diam[eter].
