Occurrence remarks Herb to 25 cm high. Plants most common in areas without competition. Older plants with few leaves remaining. Most plants hairless. Lower stems occasionally with hairs. Leaves pinnate, mid to dark green, rarely with marginal hairs. Flowers with 4 white petals; stamens 6 (4 long and 2 short), anthers pale yellow, filaments white; stigma white. Pods with green margins and pale brown faces. Mature pods open explosively with the outer walls of the valves curling rapidly from the pod base to the apex. Seeds yellow. This species is common in pot plants being used to breed Medicago sativa L. in a glasshouse (about 100 m from the collection area) that drains into this area
