Occurrence remarks Rush to 1.2 m high. Grows in clumps, rhizomes short. Culms dark to pale green with c. 60 striations. Cataphylls generally pale straw coloured, to 19 cm long topped by a small awn-like leaf to 4 mm long; catapylls overlapping on culm. Capsules mostly red-brown at this stage, ±tepal length
