Occurrence remarks Tree 8-20 m, poor form; associated with {E. robusta} at all sites, in areas of impeded drainage. Found either as single trees or small groups. No regeneration noted. Trees in various phases of flowering, most seed capsules immature. Leaves not strongly discolorous, nor dark and shiny on upper surface (quite different to {E. robusta}). Petioles long, some adult leaves broad, with pronounced mucronate tips. Bark blocky, not stringy; greyer and not as rough as {E. robusta}. Appears to occur at the edges of poorlly drained, swampy areas between planted pines and {E. robusta} with {M. viridiflora} in the wettest sites. It is probable that it was formerly more widespread, but clearance for plantation establishment has restricted the species' distribution. Other trees at 9052-558632, 9052-554602. Donated to CANB by CSIRO Forestry (FRI) and Australian Tree Seed Centre - 2010.
