Occurrence remarks Dallachy apparently made 2 collections of Benincasa hispida at Rockingham Bay: 28 Sep., 1867 fruiting specimens field note on MEL 100087. 20 Nov., 1867 flowering specimens note on MEL 100088. The collections were subsequently mixed and labelled by Mueller and mounted on 8 sheets, MEL 100087 - 93 inclusive and an unregistered sheet (loan 702 - 55), [no MEL number allocated at the time, but now thought to be MEL 220770]. The fragments of fruit on this unregistered sheet in the indet folder match MEL 100087. All must be regarded as Syntype material. In Fragm. 6: 187 (1868), Mueller cites: "Ad sinum marinum Rockingham's Bay; Dallachy" Annot: I.R. Telford, Dec 1981 [original annotation with MEL 100087].
