Occurrence remarks Erect herb to 2 m high(many 1000s of plants). Trunks below leaves to 1 m long. Leaves with petiole to 18 cm long and lamina, from junction with petiole to tip, to 40 cm long. Flowers mostly finished at this time. One flower seen with spathe cream with reflexed tip. Spadix with upper sterile part yellow (darker than spathe) and male flowers pale yellow. Large numbers of staphylinid beetles emerged from flower once placed in the press. Fruit bright red and in an elongated cylinder.
