Occurrence remarks Locally common (many 100s scattered in small clumps to single plants alongside the Jenolan River over at least 1 km) herb with inflorescences to 95 cm high. Most plants rosettes at this time. Stems with scattered hairs. Leaves dark green above, paler below, both sides with numerous short hairs that are simple or branched. Flowers with 4 sepals that are not joined and have long hairs towards the apex; petals 4, mauve, clawed, ligule to 12 mm long and to 12 mm wide. Pod a siliqua, to 125 mm long and to 2.5 mm wide, most green at this time, mature pods brown, opening from base to expose 3 walls. Seeds tan, finely patterned and on each side of central wall and inner surface of outer walls. Identified by J. R. Hosking on 12 June 2002 using various references, particularly Tutin, T.G. et al. (1964) Flora Europaea Vol. 1 & Rich, T.C.G. (1991) Crucifers of Great Britain and Ireland and specimens at NSW.
