Supplied as "This section of Ariel Creek has cut a steep-sided gully, c. 10 m deep, into the hill-wash derived from granite. It has Eucalyptus nitida as the main, and E. globulus subsp. globulus as the minor dominant. When burnt on 24 Oct 2006 Acacia verticillata was the dominant understorey with Olearia stellullata as lower growth. Both these spp. are tillering. Lepidosperma elatius (reduced by the fire from c. 50 per cent to c. 10 per cent), Pelargonium inodorum, Caladenia carnea, Viola hederacea, Isolepis sp., Microlaena stipoides, Pterostylus rosettes and 3 other herbs. Acianthus caudatus and Cyrtostylis reniformis give a c. 10 per cent cover from 2-4 m north of the runnel." |
