Field notes Usually individually, scattered. Cap 18-50 mm diameter, convex, flattish, with slight dome, slightly turned up at margin, pink-brown to brown, texture dry, soft like suede, flesh white. Gills slightly decurrent, serrate, close, white. Some lamellulae. Stipe 45-80 mm in length; 5-20 mm diameter, round, fairly even, with extension at base, white, texture dry, flesh white. Spore print cream. The curved and twisted lower part of the stem appears to be the/part of the sclerotia and covered in brown soil/sand.
