Field notes Leaves looped above the water surface, their extremities floating, or the shorter ones semi-erect, recurving but not bending down to the water. Narrowest leaves on plants at waters edge, increasing to 25mm wide (and at least 1.5m long) when in deep water (at least 1m). Tubers elongated both in saturated soil and in water; new milk-white ones all elongated too (see specimen from saturated soil).
