Occurrence remarks | 'Provided c. one dozen Wahlenbergias during the passing through of the train. All specimens grew a few feet from each other and did not vary very much. As the station platform is an old one, it is fair to presume the plants came from the surrounding country which bears a rich growth of trees and the rainfall is abundant. The Campaspe river flowers past through blue stone formation. NL 122. Spreading plants, the leafy lower branches lying along the ground and scarcely rising. Even the flower stems seem indisposed to rise - but spread far removed from the axis of the plant. Leaves almost all towards the base except the few on long flower stalks very crowded, lanceolar, lance ovate, spatular, stalkded, distantly denticular, some almost clasping, much longer on flower stems [see sheet for further details]. |
