Occurrence remarks Frequent, 26-100 plants (20 x 20 m quadrat). Tall sedge, 30-50 cm tall; leaves triquetrous, scabrous, shorter than the culms (though sometimes equal in length), flat, the sheaths (basal parts) lacerated (light brown); inflorescence a terminatl spike, 7-8 cm long, primary axis often interrupted. Specimen no. 8.

Locality Footslope of McCullagh Mountain, c. 1.3 km SW of La Perouse House (which is c. 6 km along Morrissey's road from its intersection with the Coonabarabran-Baradine road, c. 10 km NW of Coonabarabran). Site COBB0301.
Habitat From an open depression (small drainage line) at the footslope within a mountain landform pattern. Loamy sand associated with a sandstone substrate (Pilliga Sandstone). Within an Angophora floribunda / Eucalyptus rossii / Callitris endlicheri open forest [see attached sheet for list of associated species]. Site in good condition due to very high diversity of taxa within the ground layer, high weed invasion, regeneration in all layers, healthy trees and minor thinning / edge effects with adjacent cleared country.
