Occurrence remarks Suburban garden. Volunteer shrub that grew rapidly to >2m, flowered and set fruit. Birds feed on fruit. Property owners started finding hundreds of seedlings throughout garden. Grows rapidly despite constant topping. Flowers reported to be white, berries purple. Leaves 'slippery'. Unpleasant smelling when drying. Owner will retain until verified, then Mareeba Shire Council staff will destroy. Further material supplied on 17 March 2016 including flowers and immature fruit. Additional comments include that birds 'steal' fruit as soon as it matures. Mareeba Shire Council weeds team will control at this property to assist owners. Original source still unknown. Neighbourhood search to be completed in March 2016.
