Occurrence remarks Spreading dense light green grass clumps to 60cm high, with wavy, pendent inflorescence to 1.0m long, whitish seed heads and individual 3-awned seeds smaller than other Aristida seen in area.

Locality Localised drainage depression in bauxite plateau on Rio Tinto mining lease N of Ducie/Dulhunty Rivers, ca. 400m N of main access track from Heathlands Ranger Station, ca. 7km W of Boggy Creek crossing and ca. 10km E of Skardon airstrip, Western Cape York.
Habitat
Supplied as "Low-lying grey soil terrace draining to Boggy Creek to the E. At base of slope from bauxite plateau to west, supporting a canopy of Clarkson's Bloodwood (Corymbia clarksoniana) and sub-canopy of Paperbarks (Melaleuca stenostachya and Melaleuca viridiflora) 8-12m high, on wet soils with sedges, hydrophilic forbs and in places dense grassland dominated by Ischaemum australe and Eriachne triseta."
