Occurrence remarks Herb with roots along trailing stems and erect ends to stems to 8 cm above water. Leaves and stems mid green, leaves in whorls of 4 or 5, upper leaves entire, lower leaves toothed. Erect stems with male flowers above and female flowers below or all flowers female. Male flowers sessile at flowering; petals 4, pale purple and reflexed back to peduncle; stamens 8, filaments white, anthers pale yellow with pink margins. Female flowers sessile in leaf axils below male flowers, or on branches without male flowers. Styles white
