Field notes Chenopodium (?) glaucum - plant to 90+ cm high, annual with beetroot coloured stems very erect with lateral branches ascending. Chenopodium (?) desertorum - completely prostrate with tips flat on ground not as ending. Complete plants no more than 2-3 cm tall but up to 1 m across on largest plants but predomantly 50 cm or less. Whole plant curiously coloured brown with a hinto of green (very hard to describe). Annual.

Supplied as "On drying mud surrounding semi-permanent water body. Both [see descriptive notes] growing in same zone with typical Melbourne area Chenopodium glaucum, C. murale, C. pumilio, Sonchos asper, S. hydrophilus, Marsilea drummondii. Plants in zone on dryer up slope: Muehlenbeckia cunninghamii, Poa labillardieri, Agrostis avenacea, Myriophyllum muelleri in wetter areas. Muehlenbeckia evident from Western Highway (N side)."
