Field notes Pileus to 7.5 cm diam., shallowly convex in youth but exhibiting some degree of central depression even then, lemon yellow with pale brown hues, prominently zoned in concentric rings, tacky to viscid. Lamellae close to crowded, adnate to subdecurrent, pale peach to pale apricot amongst the yellow, exuding a white latex when bruised, the aftertaste bitter. Stipe 4 cm long in the largest fr. b., 2 cm diam. nr apex, tapering downwards to be 1.6 cm diam. nr base, whitish with a pale peach covering in the largest fr. b., but lacking this covering in the other fr. b.s. Spores amyloid, elliptical in profile, 5-6 x 4-5 µm, finely ornamented. Laticiferous hyphae present, also many oil drops.
