Occurrence remarks Locally common (12 in area c. 50 m x 50 m, many more (1000s) seen in Pilliga State Forests) small shrub to 90 cm high. Leaves green above with scattered white hairs, densely woolly hairy below, margins recurved. Flowers with 5 white petals 6-10 mm long and 5-7 mm wide. Five sepals joined at base, covered in rusty stellate hairs. Stamens united in a column in male flowers, filaments and base white to white tinged with pink; anthers pink, 2 lobed with lobes splitting to expose yellow pollen; on first opening filaments are curved toward base of flower but straighten as flowers age. Fruit a 3 chambered capsule covered with rusty hairs.
