Field notes | D.F: Conico-convex cap becoming applanate with small sharp umbo, estriate, very white gills + pale stipe, on wood. Pileus a) 22 x 4mm, b) 12 x 5 mm, conico or convex with small sharp umbo becoming applanate at maturity, radially fibrillose, estriate, grey brown, lubricous when wet, SEM. Lamellae: sinuate, very white to 2.5mm deep, close, mod thick, lamellulae [see diagram]. Stipe a) 53mm, 1.5mm, 1.5mm, 2.0mm, b) 40mm, 1.0mm, 1.0mm, 1.0mm. C.A., cyl, very slender, white or palest brown, dry, glabrous, slight sheen, pliant. Odour: 0, Taste: 0. Spores: no reaction to Meltzer's. Striking feature of this different Mycena is the extraordinarily narrow, thick-walled cystidium. Spores almost globose. |
