Occurrence remarks | Locally frequent (>50 clumps of plants) rhizomatous shrub to 25 cm high. Lignotubers seen associated with some plants. Stems brown, newer stems pale brown. Leaves with margins recurved and minutely antrorsely toothed for upper two thirds, dark green above, pale grey-green below with longitudinal veins obvious on lower surface and not visible on upper surface, petiole yellow-green. Flowers in bud towards end of upper branches. Acrothamnus hookeri (Sond.) Quinn growing in open forest and woodlands elsewhere on the Tops has largely finished flowering and in fruit (for example see J.R.Hosking 3114). Acrothamnus sp. (JRHosking 3131) appears to mainly grow in frost hollows and sparse woodland exposed to frost as is the case here. Digital images with J.R.Hosking. |
