Occurrence remarks Shrub to 2.5 m high and to 1.75 m wide. Twigs grey one side, pale brown the other, smooth bark, slightly roughened by small longitudinal striations, longitudinally folded. Leaves in bud, mid green with toothed margins. Inflorescence a raceme 13-16 cm long. Rachis bright green with 7-9 flowers. Terminal bud present, ovary superior, hypanthium cup-shaped. No apparent epicalyx. Caducous bracts 2 x 1 mm, broadly triangular, brown, appressed pubescent with white hairs. Sepals mid green, softly white appressed pubescent outside, glabrous inside, 4.4 x 2.7 mm. Petals white 15-16, falling during collection, to 1.7 x 1.4 cm with short limb (1 mm); stamens 23-29, filaments white, ~8.5 mm long; anthers paired, dorsifixed, yellow, ~0.7 mm long, shallow cup-like, dehiscence apparently longitudinal
