Organism remarks Main distinctive features: globular shape; gleba. Peridium: globose, 30 mm high x 40 mm wide, smooth, thin (1/2 mm), eroding with 3 - 6 mm fissures, single layered, mottled colour, mainly off white with some light yellow-brown. Gleba: tightly packed peridioles of spores (light yellow-green) becoming less closely spaced, darker and larger (to 2 mm) towards peridium. Peridioles separated by dark brown to black matrix. Stem: 10 mm long x 15 mm wide, irregular shape, tapering at base, solid, mixed with gravel. Partial veil (ring or covering over gills): absent. Universal veil: absent. Odour and taste: mouldy peaches and bad shoes just like Acacia atkinsiana. Yellow brown mycelium.
Occurrence remarks Growing on track in red brown clay loam. Broad gravelly floodplain of major creek (Bungaroo Creek).
