Occurrence remarks Locally abundant tall, upright herb to ~60cm. Flower heads golden yellow, globular, sometimes large to ~60mm across. Scapes reddish. Foliage green, covered in silky hairs. Seed collected from ~35 plants.

Habitat
Supplied as "Subalpine grassland on low hills and adjacent alluvial flats on undulating plains. Open aspect, on flats and rises around area, horse disturbance evident. Soils peaty loams on granite. With Ozothamnus alpinus, Poa clivicola, Epacris microphylla, Wahlenbergia gloriosa, Ranunculus sp, Leptorhynchos sp, Hovea montana, Craspedia jamesii, Prasophyllum tadgellianum."
